Senior Leaders Summit 2026

23rd April, 2026

Whittlebury Hall,

Northamption

ESSA is excited to announce the return of the well received Senior Leaders Summit, on 24th April 2026 at the prestigious Whittlebury Hall.

Facilitated by Erika Clegg DL FRSA, author of Junk Values, speaker,  and consultant specialising in performance-enhancing culture.  This dynamic event will delve into key topics such as growth, leadership and strategy - offering invaluable insights for senior professionals.

Designed specifically for individuals who play a crucial role in driving their company’s overarching strategy, this content-rich day promises to inspire and empower leaders to excel in their roles.

Our Summit Theme

The power of human judgement in an uncertain world

In a recent questionnaire, ESSA members told us they are not short of confidence or capability, but that they are operating in increasingly volatile conditions. In these circumstances, performance is shaped less by certainty or technology, and more by the quality of human judgement.

Indeed, human judgement is the true competitive advantage in complex and uncertain environments. That is why the ESSA 2026 Leadership Summit will explore how judgement in leaders and their teams can be sharpened and built upon.

Through a combination of talks and practical exercises, the day will follow a clear path from our teams, to ourselves, and then to the power of both working effectively together. We will examine how to create the motivation and culture for people to perform at their best. The summit will also explore how high-quality collaboration improves results in complex conditions.

The ESSA 2026 Leadership Summit will also provide delegates with the opportunity to hear a sector leader’s perspective on how conditions are shaping the exhibitions and events industry in 2026, as well as to question a panel of experts on strategic growth and exit options including MBO, M&A and private equity.

Delegates will leave with practical tools to strengthen team performance, improve decision-making and support human judgement even in times of uncertainty.

Meet our host

Erika Clegg DL FRSA

Author, speaker and consultant

Erika Clegg DL FRSA is the author of Junk Values, renowned speaker and a consultant specialising in performance-enhancing culture. She works with established organisations, particularly those navigating generational handover, helping them develop the resources, tools and behaviours to thrive in this increasingly complex world.

In Junk Values, Erika challenges the prevailing, sloppy approach to corporate values, showing how poorly chosen, unusable values erode trust. The book offers a compelling alternative: values that genuinely underpin performance, build resilience and strengthen loyalty. She calls these Slow Values.

Erika coaches leaders at moments of change, supporting them to take confident next steps. Her style is compassionate, challenging and action focused.  She has also spent 25 years in brand communications, working with global agencies before founding her own successful consultancy creating a multi award-winning, commercially resilient business.
